Awards & Literature

  • Ratings for all groups are:
                     3-Good
                     2-Excellent
                     1-Superior
  • Pluses and minuses can be given to any group at the judge’s discretion
  • For Band and Orchestra:
    • Your judge will award your rating and trophy immediately following the clinic with your ensemble. This is part of your 30 minutes in the venue.
    • Judges may award one "Best in Class" in the following categories: Beginners, Non-Varsity, Varsity, and/or Specialty Ensemble each day. There must be a minimum of 3 participating ensembles of any type for an outstanding award to be given during your festival.
    • The judge's decision is final, and they have the right to determine if an award is given in any category.
    • Your performance time DOES NOT affect eligibility for special awards. Directors or a representative are responsible for picking up outstanding trophies from the park if you have to leave before the festival's close.

  • For Choir:
    • Open Division: The standard division.  Choirs are held to an average, everyday level. However, the clinic and the trophies are the same.  Choirs in the open division are not eligible for Best in Class.
    • Invitational Division: Designed for directors who want to participate in a higher level of competition with slightly higher expectations.  Choirs in the Invitational Division are eligible for Best in Class.
      • Your judge will award a rating and trophy in both Open and Invitational Categories immediately following the clinic with your ensemble. This is part of your 20 minutes in the venue.
      • Judges may award Outstanding Awards only to those who entered the more competitive "Invitational Category.” If you care to change categories - email me.
      • There must be a minimum of 3 choirs in the Invitational Category for an outstanding award to be considered.
      • The judge's decision is final, and they have the right to determine if an award is given in any category.
